MINH DUC GROUP – SHAPING THE FUTURE OF VIETNAM’S SUSPENSION BRIDGE INDUSTRY

Hanoi, September 24, 2025 – The International Seminar 'Suspension Bridges Seminar – From Design to Construction' was successfully held, marking the close collaboration between Minh Duc Group, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC), and its partners, OVM Mechanical Group (China) and Tecco1. This event was not only an academic forum bringing together leading experts, but also a strong testament to Minh Duc’s commitment to pioneering technology adoption, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s construction industry.

Suspension Bridges – A Symbol of Breakthrough and Innovation

The seminar focused on clarifying the core principles and breakthrough technical solutions in the field of suspension bridges. This is a distinctive type of construction that requires the highest precision in design, materials, and construction technology. In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Dai Nghia, Chairman of the Board and General Director of Minh Duc Group, delivered an inspiring message on the Group’s vision: 'For us, suspension bridges are not merely transportation works. They are also architectural masterpieces, symbols of creativity and engineering capability, embodying the aspiration to overcome all geographical challenges to connect regions. Mastering this technology is the pathway for Vietnam to create landmark projects with its own identity, sustainable over time.'

He also candidly pointed out that, although suspension bridges are an inevitable trend in modern construction, this type of infrastructure has yet to fully develop in Vietnam. He believes that the greatest barrier does not lie in technology, but in the challenge of innovative thinking. Only by daring to step out of the comfort zone can suspension bridges rise, becoming symbols of the nation’s progress.

Three-Party’ Collaboration – A Foundation for the Future

The event was held in the context of the entire industry actively implementing the Party and Government’s major initiatives for breakthroughs in science, technology, and digital transformation. In his welcome speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, Rector of the University of Transport and Communications, emphasized the importance of harnessing the combined strength of the 'golden triangle': Government – Scientists – Enterprises. This is the 'key' to solving complex technical challenges, mastering technology, and creating projects with international stature.

This spirit is fully aligned with the Party and Government’s strategic policies, such as Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, and Resolutions No. 68-NQ/TW and 198/2025/QH15 on policies promoting the private economy. These initiatives usher in a new era, providing momentum for Vietnam to advance robustly and realize all development objectives.

With firm belief, Mr. Tran Dai Nghia expressed his hope that, with determination and the united effort of the entire industry, we will soon overcome outdated mindsets to achieve breakthrough innovations. He called for collective action to master science and technology and to develop modern suspension bridge projects. These bridges will not only serve transportation needs but also stand as vivid evidence of capability and progress, contributing to the comprehensive development of the nation’s science, economy, and society.

Opening a New Era for a New Era of Collaboration in Vietnam’s Construction Industry

One of the most memorable moments of the workshop was the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of Transport and Communications and Minh Duc Group, witnessed by representatives of co-sponsors OVM and Tecco1, as well as all distinguished delegates and honored guests attending the event. This marks an important step forward, ushering in a new era of close collaboration between a leading educational institution and a reputable enterprise.

Both parties committed to jointly implementing scientific research programs, technology transfer initiatives, and, in particular, the training of high-quality human resources. Minh Duc Construction Group will support students and postgraduate researchers through practical projects, most recently the Student Innovation Contest 'Building Reinforced Earth Retaining Wall Models', enabling young talents to engage with new technologies, apply classroom theory in practice, and build a solid foundation to become skilled engineers in the future. This collaboration not only benefits both parties but also contributes to enhancing the quality of human resources across Vietnam’s construction industry.
