Vietnamese Entrepreneurs – The Vanguard Force in Transforming the Economic Growth Model
In the new era of development, science, technology, innovation, and the entrepreneurial community serve not only as drivers of growth but also as the foundation for building national competitiveness.
On May 15, the Forum on "Science and Entrepreneurs in the Era of National Rising" was held in Hanoi. The event was co-hosted by the State Organization and Labour Magazine and the Southeast Asia Research Association of Vietnam (SEARAV), in coordination with T&A Trading Service Joint Stock Company and the Vietnam Journalism Development Joint Stock Company.
The forum focused its discussions on four major themes: "National Vision and Policy Framework"; "Science - Technology and Innovation"; "Entrepreneurs and Corporate Development Strategies in the New Era"; "Synergy among Science - Entrepreneurs - Education - National Culture"

Dr. Tran Nghi, Editor-in-Chief of the State Organization and Labour Magazine and Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized at the forum: "In the new era of development, science, technology, innovation, and the entrepreneurial community serve not only as growth drivers but also as the foundation for shaping national competitiveness. This forum provides a strategic space for policymakers, scientists, and the business community to exchange long-term visions, connect resources, and promote sustainable development solutions."
Many presentations at the forum focused on analyzing key issues, including: Building an enabling institutional environment; Promoting digital transformation and data utilizationl; Enhancing national governance capacity and agricultural industrialization; Developing entrepreneurs for the new era; Strengthening the bonds between the State, scientists, and businesses; Constructing innovation ecosystems and leveraging national culture for sustainable growth; Establishing mechanisms to attract and utilize talent amid deep international integration.
Experts at the event also pointed out that in the new era of global competition, national strength is no longer measured solely by economic scale or physical resources. Instead, it is determined by innovative capacity, human resource quality, scientific and technological advancements, and the ability to effectively connect components within the development ecosystem.
In particular, speakers highlighted the role of the Vietnamese entrepreneurial community as a vanguard force in transforming the growth model. At the same time, they affirmed that scientists and intellectuals constitute the strategic resource that shapes long-term national competitiveness.
To ensure that science and entrepreneurs truly become the primary drivers of growth in the coming period, experts suggested that Vietnam focus on major orientations. This includes building a legal system that genuinely encourages innovation, grants greater autonomy to research institutions, and creates favorable conditions for commercializing research outcomes.

The publication features in-depth research, analyses, and presentations by leading managers, experts, scientists, and prominent entrepreneurs, reflecting multi-dimensional perspectives on the country’s new development drivers during this period of robust integration and transformation.

Another major highlight of the program was the Honoring Ceremony for Exemplary Scientists, Managers, Entrepreneurs, and Enterprises of 2026. The ceremony recognized individuals and organizations with outstanding contributions to science, technology, education, healthcare, sports, business production, innovation, community development, and international integration during the nation’s era of rising.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Pham Thanh Tinh, President of the Southeast Asia Research Association of Vietnam, stressed: "In the new era of development, no single sector can advance in isolation. National strength must be forged from the synergy between the State, the scientific community, corporate sectors, education, culture, and international partners. The connections established at today’s forum need to be translated into practical action programs for the sustainable development of the country."
