Seminar on "Technical Design of High-Speed Railway Line" Leaves a Strong Impression on Experts

On the afternoon of April 18, 2026, the Scientific Seminar "Technical Design of High-Speed Railway Line" was successfully held in Ha Long (Quang Ninh), attracting approximately 80 delegates, including experts, lecturers, engineers, and corporate representatives from the transport infrastructure sector. The event was jointly organized by Minh Duc Construction Group and the Traffic Construction Architecture and Engineering Consultancy Joint Stock Company (A-ETC).

The seminar made a significant mark with 6 in-depth presentations that were both highly academic and closely aligned with practical implementation. The sessions focused on core issues in the design and construction of high-speed railway systems. This content not only helped systematize the theoretical framework but also opened up specific approaches for project execution under Vietnam's local conditions.

The subsequent discussion session took place vibrantly with multi-dimensional opinions from experts, revolving around technical challenges, design solutions, and practical applicability. These exchanges contributed to clarifying key issues while adding practical perspectives to the research content.

Assessing the professional value of the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Ha stated that cooperating and exchanging with international partners who share similar conditions with Vietnam is a necessary direction in the current period. According to him, the participation of experts from South Korea (Expert Lee Duck Young) and China (Expert Chen Kai) holds particularly important significance, as these are both nations that have achieved outstanding accomplishments in high-speed railway development.

South Korea is recognized as one of the early developers of high-speed railway systems, with its prominent hallmark being the ability to master technology through the KTX (Korea Train eXpress) system. Meanwhile, China has emerged as the country with the fastest and most modern high-speed railway network expansion globally in recent decades.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Ha (University of Transport and Communications) presenting the topic “Dynamic Analysis of Bridges Under High-Speed Operational Conditions.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Ha remarked: "Directly accessing international experiences through leading experts not only brings practical reference value but also contributes to enhancing the capacity of the domestic scientific and technical team, effectively serving the research and implementation of high-speed railway projects in Vietnam."

From an overall perspective, the seminar was highly evaluated for its rich scientific content and strong applicability, meeting urgent demands as Vietnam prepares to deploy high-speed railway projects. The presentations were structured with clear focus, ensuring synchronization across all aspects from design and construction technology to handling and operational experiences.

In particular, many topics addressed areas where Vietnam has not yet had the opportunity to access technology deeply, thereby bridging gaps in knowledge and experience. According to expert evaluations, the value of the seminar extends beyond pure research, holding direct significance for future design, construction, operation, and maintenance of high-speed railway systems.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hậu (University of Transport and Communications) presenting the topic “Research on Bridge Design for High-Speed Railway.”

Sharing this viewpoint, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hau assessed that the seminar was held at the perfect timing, right as Vietnam begins to deploy its high-speed railway projects:

The seminar is extremely necessary in the current context, as high-speed railway issues remain relatively new in Vietnam. The discussed topics are not merely academic but can be applied directly to specific projects. Especially, to meet the strict technical requirements of infrastructure like bridges, tunnels, and roadbeds, the domestic engineering team needs to gradually grasp and master the technology, thereby optimizing design solutions and reducing investment costs.

Through the exchanges and discussions, the seminar successfully formed an important reference foundation for the research, design, and strategic orientation of high-speed railway systems in Vietnam. Simultaneously, the event opened up opportunities to promote professional cooperation and connect research units, consultancies, and construction enterprises.
