The construction area is situated on steep hillside terrain characterized by weathered soil and rock formations, limited site accessibility, and significant exposure to Sa Pa’s typical wet and rainy climatic conditions. Under these challenging conditions, the slope stabilization solution must simultaneously address three key requirements: enhancing soil mass stability, controlling groundwater seepage, and protecting the slope surface.

For deep ground reinforcement, Minh Duc EC is carrying out drilling works with 90 mm diameter boreholes, followed by the installation of D32 soil nails measuring 11.7 m and 15.15 m in length, depending on the specific design requirements of each area. The soil nail system is designed to reinforce the soil mass and help stabilize areas susceptible to instability. Construction quality is carefully controlled throughout the entire process, from positioning, drilling angle, and borehole depth to soil nail installation, grouting, and nail head finishing, ensuring the integrated performance of the reinforcement system.

In parallel with internal soil mass reinforcement, more than 7,000 m² of drainage mats made of nonwoven geotextile, incorporating 19.6 mm diameter drainage pipes spaced at 1 m intervals, are being installed to collect and discharge seepage water.

On the slope surface, approximately 106,000 geosynthetic bags, combined with more than 123,000 m² of high-strength geogrid, are being installed to reinforce the surface soil layer, mitigate erosion, and facilitate vegetation restoration.

With this configuration, the reinforcement system provides an integrated solution extending from within the soil mass to the slope surface. Soil nails provide deep reinforcement, the drainage system controls the effects of groundwater seepage, while geogrids and geosynthetic bags help stabilize and protect the surface soil layer.

Beyond material supply, Minh Duc EC also provides solution consulting, technical support during implementation, on-site supervision, and construction quality inspections to ensure that all system components are installed in accordance with design requirements and function effectively together under actual site conditions.

The project's challenges lie not only in the volume of construction work but also in the need to carefully coordinate the sequence of different reinforcement layers. Given the steep terrain, confined working areas, and rapidly changing weather conditions, the site is divided into appropriate work zones, allowing soil nail drilling, drainage system installation, and slope surface finishing to proceed continuously while maintaining the required technical sequence, construction quality, and on-site safety.

Through this project, Minh Duc EC continues to strengthen its capabilities in technical solution consulting, material supply, and the implementation of slope stabilization systems in areas with complex topographical, geological, and hydrological conditions, while further enhancing its ability to coordinate the construction of multiple reinforcement components as an integrated system.
