MINH DUC GROUP STEPS UP POST-TENSIONING CONSTRUCTION AT RICE CITY LONG CHAU

With a total volume of more than 400 tonnes of post-tensioning tendons, Minh Duc Group is currently executing the post-tensioned floor systems for the CT1 and CT3 towers of the Thuong Thanh Social Housing Project – Rice City Long Chau, Hanoi. The post-tensioning works at CT1 have been fully completed, while construction at CT3 is being accelerated in line with the project’s overall schedule.

42 Post-Tensioned Floors Delivered Across CT1 and CT3

Rice City Long Chau is developed by the joint venture between Him Lam Thu Do Joint Stock Company and BIC Vietnam Joint Stock Company. The project covers a total site area of approximately 60,355 m² and comprises three high-rise residential towers: CT1, CT2, and CT3.

Within its scope of work, Minh Duc Group is responsible for the construction of the post-tensioned floor systems at CT1 and CT3, with a total volume of more than 400 tonnes of post-tensioning tendons, corresponding to 42 post-tensioned floors.

Overview of post-tensioning works at the CT03 construction site – Rice City Long Chau

As of September 2026, all post-tensioning works at CT1 have been completed. At CT3, construction has progressed to the 8th floor, with 6 out of 21 post-tensioned floors completed. According to the current schedule, the project is expected to be completed in February 2027.

For post-tensioned floor systems, strict control of tendon alignment, elevation, and anchorage installation is essential throughout the construction process. At Rice City Long Chau, Minh Duc Group implements comprehensive quality control covering tendon positioning, elevation checks, anchorage installation, pre-concreting inspection, and stressing operations.

Minh Duc Group’s team closely follows the construction schedule, maintaining an 8-day floor cycle.

With a large floor plate, each level is divided into multiple zones to facilitate phased construction by area. Tendon installation, technical inspections, acceptance procedures, and preparation for concrete pours are carried out continuously, requiring close coordination between Minh Duc Group’s team and the structural contractors on site.

At CT3, the current target is to maintain an approximately 8-day floor cycle. To meet this schedule, Minh Duc Group deploys multiple work fronts, proactively coordinates manpower and activities by zone, and closely follows the progress of each floor cycle.

Construction Management Challenges in an Urban Environment

In addition to technical requirements, Rice City Long Chau also places high demands on construction organization due to its urban location, with most concrete supply and pouring activities carried out at night.

This requires the technical team to remain closely engaged on site, complete tendon system inspections before each concrete pour, and maintain continuous coordination with relevant parties. Organizing multiple zones and work fronts in parallel also enables Minh Duc Group to maintain construction progress while ensuring the technical requirements of the post-tensioning system are fully met.

The Rice City Long Chau project requires Minh Duc Group’s team to closely integrate technical expertise with effective construction management.

With a total volume of more than 400 tonnes of post-tensioning tendons, 42 post-tensioned floors within the project scope, and a target floor cycle of approximately 8 days, Rice City Long Chau requires a strong combination of technical capability and effective on-site construction management.

From the completed works at CT1 to the ongoing construction at CT3, Minh Duc Group maintains strict technical control and closely follows each construction cycle, ensuring that the post-tensioning system is executed in coordination with the structural works and the project’s overall schedule.
