SPHERICAL BEARINGS

Three main components :

Spherical bearing has a bottom plate on which is a PTFE/UHMWPE curved surfaced sliding plate.

The convex calotte in the center is made from aluminum alloy or steel with very high corrosion resistance, the convex surface is polished to be able to rotate with the lower cutting board. The flat surface is inserted with a slip surface.

The upper plate is designed with a stainless steel faceted slide or a guide bar that provides a movable bearing capable of absorbing horizontal load of the structure.

Details

The bearing is fixed in displacement by the design of a limiting ring located at the upper plate. This design allows to transmit the horizontal load acting on the bearing from the upper plate to the bottom plate. In order to prevent horizontal load from acting on the top of the guide spherical bearing, there is a sliding surface between the upper plate and the convex calotte.

Displacement in both lateral and longitudinal directions are allowed but not subject to horizontal load.

The spherical bearing is designed with a guide bar that allows displacement in one direction, so that the horizontal reaction is transmitted from the upper plate to bottom plate in this direction.
