Minh Duc EC Collaborates with International Partner Strata for Professional Training and Field Testing at the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway Project
From May 14 to May 16, 2026, Minh Duc EC collaborated with its strategic partner, Strata, to organize a series of specialized training programs combined with field testing at the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway project (Son La province). This event contributed to enhancing the technical capabilities of the engineering team and realizing the application of advanced integrated geotechnical solutions in one of the nation's key transport infrastructure projects.
The Hoa Binh - Moc Chau Expressway is a vital transport route connecting the Northwest region to the capital, Hanoi. With a total length of approximately 119 km and an expected completion date in 2028, the project is anticipated to resolve infrastructure "bottlenecks," expand regional connectivity, and act as a lever to promote socio-economic development for the entire area.
However, construction reality here faces significant challenges as the route passes through rugged, mountainous terrain. The testing area is located at locations with high talus slopes and steep cut-and-fill platforms, featuring complex stratified geology, and is heavily affected by surface runoff from rainfall. These are the primary factors prone to landslides, slope instability, and long-term degradation of the roadbed structure.
In the context of infrastructure projects increasingly requiring high standards in both progress and longevity, searching for and updating new geotechnical technological solutions to solve the aforementioned problems has become a top priority for Minh Duc EC.
To proactively and thoroughly address these harsh terrain conditions, on May 14-15, 2026, Minh Duc EC collaborated with Strata to organize an in-depth theoretical training program, laying a solid foundation for field experimental work.

Thematic theoretical training session between Minh Duc EC's engineering team and Strata experts
Strata is a reputable global brand, formed from a strategic joint venture with Strata Systems (USA), currently operating an international network with headquarters in India.
During the training, the two sides focused on discussing soil retaining wall construction measures, slope protection design plans, and material optimization to be most compatible with the specific terrain conditions in Vietnam. Strata's solutions are not only famous for their durability in soil treatment but also aim for sustainability: minimizing the use of natural resources, reducing carbon emissions, and optimizing operating costs for contractors.
Immediately following the days of theoretical training, on May 16, 2026, the Minh Duc EC engineering team, together with Strata technical experts, went directly to the Hoa Binh - Moc Chau expressway site to implement construction and test material samples.

According to the project's technical representative, pilot construction plays an especially important role before large-scale implementation. This process allows the technical team to evaluate the optimal construction plan for each item, such as installing geogrids, anchoring structures, treating backfill soil, and organizing slope drainage systems suitable for actual site conditions.
The results from the field test serve not only as a solid scientific basis for the Investor and the Construction Supervision Consultant to accept and standardize technical procedures before mass application, but also reaffirm the long-term cooperation commitment between Minh Duc EC and Strata in elevating geotechnical technology in Vietnam.
